Youn Yuh Jung, the first Korean actress to win an Oscar

Actor Youn Yuh Jung won the 「Best Actress in a Supporting Role」 for the movie "Minari" at the U.S. Academy Awards on the 26th. Youn Yuh Jung has made history by becoming the first Korean actor to win an Oscar at the Academy Awards. She has won 38 trophies for "Minari," including the Academy Award for Best Actress in a Supporting Role.

 

 

The film "Minari," is about a Korean family who moved to a farm in southern Arkansas in the 1980s. Youn Yuh Jung played Soon Ja, a grandmother who moved from Korea to help her daughter and her husband.

 

The reason why it became a hot topic of the world is because she was the first Korean actor to win an Oscar, also but her witty acceptance speech became a big reason. Youn Yuh Jung gave a relaxed, witty, straightforward and humble acceptance speech. She drew laughter from the audience, saying that most of Europeans call me  Yuh Yung or You Jung, But tonight, you are all forgiven.
