In this news, I would like to talk about a club in JeongPeong Middle school named ‘Korean Peninsula Project’. In this project, three different clubs collaborated to do a campaign activity. Each person researched a problem in our society related to the topic of ‘Korean Peninsula’. For more campaign activities, they all took a photo of them wearing their Project T-shirt, decorating a mini-fan with stickers showing problems in the peninsula. These photos are put up online for a scheme.
To specify the task, many students participated in the campaign by mentioning problems such as the Japanese Military Sexual Slavery, Dokdo island and more. Writing down the importance of the problems, writing the way to solve the questions was the main topic for the research. Throughout the process, students got to know the importance of Korean Peninsula problems, and why we should take them seriously.
After the campaign, students mentioned this project gave them a chance to know more about the history of our country, and could make themselves be conscious in problems of our society. I hope more students get interested in such society issues!
